CLASS LOCATION: 340 North Sam Houston Pkwy E, Houston, TX 77060

We will meet in the conference room A160 (Unless otherwise specified)

Class Starts exactly 9 AM (Unless otherwise specified)

The course will consist of 4 to 6 hours of classroom material with a multiple-choice test at the end (Classroom portion of the LTC course is mandated by DPS to last 4 to 6 hours).

The course will cover:

• Laws that relate to weapons and the use of deadly force

• Handgun use and safety, including the use of restraint holsters and methods to ensure the secure carrying of openly carried handguns

• Non-violent dispute resolution

• Proper storage practices for handguns with an emphasis on storage practices that eliminate the possibility of accidental injury to a child

FIREARMS RANGE

Upon completion of the classroom,
we will meet at the firearms range at:
D-Range (Formally named 59 Gun Range)
Located off 11325 Eastex Frwy, Houston, TX 77093.

We start the course of fire to qualify.
You will need to bring a pistol or revolver (a minimum of a 22 caliber) that you will qualify at the range. If you do not have a handgun, GTAS will provide handguns and ammo FREE OF CHARGE at regular price.
If you would like to use your own handgun, D-Range will have ammunition for sale. Also, D-Range rent handguns for you to qualify.

******If you use your handgun, you will need 50 rounds of ammunition for the firearm that you will be shooting. It's highly recommended that you bring at least 100 rounds of ammunition in case you do not qualify on the first course. **************************

It is highly recommended that you have your own weapon due to the un-familiarization of a different or used handgun. ​​​

Things to bring and wear at the classroom and gun range:
An original any state Driver’s License or Texas Identification Card;
Wear comfortable pants or tactical pants is okay;
Wear a long sleeve button shirt on the range;
Comfortable LACED SHOES OR BOOTS>ONLY<.

You will pay for your range fee which eye and ear protection is included)
Bring water to drink; and
Bring a positive attitude.

The instructor fee is $100 (Private $250). On the next page, you can pay by clicking on the Book and Pay for Course tab.

NOTE******Payment (Nonrefundable)  will need to be paid prior to the class start date in order to reserve a seat. 


A receipt will be emailed to you.
GUN RANGE FEES WILL BE PAID BY THE STUDENT AT THE FIREARMS RANGE (Includes eyes, ears, and target).

Note** you can complete the Texas Department of Public Safety’s application and fingerprint now or upon completion of this course.

If you wait until after you complete the course, your information will still be submitted upon completion of the course, but TXDPS will not process it until you complete their information.

This is not a learn how to shoot a pistol course. This course is designed that the user already knows how to handle firearms.

THERE WILL BE ABSOLUTELY NO FIREARMS IN THE CLASSROOM. FIREARMS WILL BE SECURED IN YOUR VEHICLE UNTIL AT THE FIREARM RANGE!!!!

The instructor will dismiss any student that is:

1) Late to class, i.e. breaks.
2) Causes a disturbance in class
3) Not properly dressed
4) Unable to pass the written or firearms test
5) Falsify information
6) Disrespectful to instructor(s) and classmates
7) Using vulgar language
8) Unable to comprehend or follow directions for safety reasons
9) Violate gun safety rules. (See gun safety rules:

These rules will be mandatory and shall be enforced to follow to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable course.
